Now that the weather is getting warmer, new makeup trends have begun to pop up, offering lighter and brighter options for the new found sun and heat, along with dramatic looks designed just for spring.
Possibly the most popular [and talked about] look is the reverse smoky eye or watercolor eye. Rather than having a heavy, dark effect, this look brightens your eyes with the use of soft, light colors-perfect for the spring!
Ombre lips have been a long time coming, with beloved celebrities wearing this look on and off the red carpet. The look is young, fresh, and incredibly easy to recreate. Along with ombre lips, two-tone lips have become increasingly popular and can be as extreme or as simple as you like. Many are wearing this runway look that is typically created with one red lip and one coral, creating a bright and playful look. Glitter lips is another trend, offering a chic look worn by many of the performers and attendees at Coachella. To achieve the look, pat your lips with a fine or chunky glitter while your lipstick or lip gloss is still wet.
Glitter is very popular this season for more than just lips. Wear it as highlight or coat your eyebrows for other well-worn looks from Coachella. Keep in mind that the glitter-based looks will result in a more dramatic effect. A dialed down option is a sparkling eyeshadow or a bit extra highlight.  Soft shimmer works well with spring fashions and is quite popular this season.
If glitter is not your style, consider an ultimate, but tasteful, amount of gloss. This season, you will see the addition of gloss to eyelids and cheekbones to create a dewy, youthful look.
Make up for spring is lighter to accommodate the new, warmer temperatures. For people who adore darker eye looks, fear not. There is a way to achieve that level of autumn smokiness without the weight. Dark eyeshadow gloss is available from most cosmetic lines to create weightless, smudgy eyes.
Everything about spring is soft. Try a natural look with a touch of soft-colored eyeshadow. For a simple, clean look, try a bit of concealer, liquid highlight, and filled in brows. You will create a natural, dewy look perfect for the season. Want a touch more color? Add some extra pink by draping your blush (high on your cheekbones) with a soft eyeshadow and lipstick. This simple, but youthful look will have you feeling fantastic. Lastly, makeup fanatics are wearing soft greens around their eyes. If you want a little pow for your make-up palette, this will surely do the trick.
Enjoy the warmth and the fun, new looks that come with it!
