Burgerology is an amusement park for foodies. Last week, I visited their Huntington location, and I was left mesmerized by their gigantic burgers, fun cocktails and outrageous shakes. Their menu consists of apps, fries, mac & cheese, salads, sandwiches and burgers. The burger menu is massive – with more than 20 burgers (protein options including their signature blend, Kobe blend, chicken, lamb, turkey, tuna steak, and vegetable) and a “build your own burger menu” – there is truly something for everyone.
Before we get to the food, let’s talk about cocktails. As many of you know, I am a cocktail enthusiast. By this, I mean, I enjoy a good drink – especially if it’s unlike anything I’ve had before. Burgerology has mastered the fun, sweet drink you’ve been looking for. Their Bomb Pop tastes like your favorite sour patch kid, complete with sweet and sour candy, while their white sangria is ideal for a group – served in a huge goblet with bright bendy straws and globs of fruit.
If you’re looking for something sweeter, and non-alcoholic, check out their shake menu. For my Instagramers and Snapchatters, these shakes are photo worthy. For my fellow foodies with a sweet tooth, these shakes are the ‘dessert mirage’ you’ll be reliving over and over. Filled with birthday cake and topped with cotton candy, or fruity pebbles or rainbow cookies… the list goes on and on. I was lucky enough to try the rainbow cookie and the campfire (think s’mores). Both were delicious. On my next visit, I hope to try the cereal bowl (birthday cake ice cream with fruity pebbles) and the classic strawberry. The shake menu has roughly 15 shakes, and may be the perfect place to take your kids (or grandkids!) for a fun ice-cream alternative.
Now onto the food. These burgers are not for those easily intimidated by large portions. Seriously, they’re colossal. My guests and I sampled the Double Trouble (our favorite!), Mac Attack (smothered in mac and cheese), and Hudson Valley turkey burger. I should also mention they have five bun options including their torta, multi-grain, lettuce wrap, pretzel and gluten free. For me, it’s all about the sauces. Their house sauce, garlic aioli and maple aioli were some of my favorites among the 14 sauces they offer. We chose Poutine fries, Cajun fries (my personal favorite), and Truffle fries with our burgers. In addition to our burgers, and fries, we also sampled the Ultimate Grilled Cheese (YUM), Buffalo Mac (you’ll have dreams about this stuff, it’s epic), cheese curds and pretzel. On my next visit, I hope to try the Short Rib Mac and Diner Grilled Cheese.
