If you’re looking for a unique pet for that special someone this Valentines Day, then consider a lovebird. What says I love you more than a lovebird? Their name comes from their habit of perching side by side for long periods of time and the way they respond to each other. When getting lovebirds its best to only get one if you want it to bond with you. If you get two, they will be more focused on each other. You also want to handle them often so they get comfortable with you. There are many breeds of lovebirds to choose from, such as the Peach-faced, Masked, and Fischer’s lovebirds.
Dogs and cats are very popular, but there are many other pets that are just as loveable. If you’re looking for a small exotic animal, then a sugar glider is the pet for you. These small marsupials are not difficult to take care of and they are very adorable. They are as smart as dogs and can learn their name and be taught to do tricks.
Even though you might not think it, pigs are one of the smartest animals in the world and they make great pets. They are smarter than dogs and three year old children. It’s best to do research before getting a pig because owning one requires a serious commitment since they can live up to 20 years. Also keep in mind there are plenty available for adoption.
For those of you who are allergic to fur, fish make great pets. You can even find cool neon fish that glow at your local pet store. Fish can have big personalities and show great excitement when they see you.
In the reptile world, bearded dragons are very gentle pets and easy to maintain. They eat crickets, worms, and fresh vegetables.
Lastly, we can’t forget my favorite pet – the chicken. Chickens are wonderful pets that get along great with kids. They also give you farm fresh eggs every day.

Sugar gliders also known as “pocket pets” are small marsupials in the same general family as a kangaroo or koala bear.
There are more chickens in the world than any other bird.
