Salsa Salsa of Smithtown opened in 2001. Karen Nustad, one of the first employees upon their opening, decided to take the next step and purchase the restaurant in 2012. “I saw an opportunity to breathe life back into a struggling business with new ideas,” said Nustad. The Tex-Mex restaurant with hints of Latin, Caribbean and other exotic flavors, has been completely revamped since they opened and Karen and Chris have taken over.
Karen and Chris have not let the pandemic stop them from continuing to grow their business. They have created a whole new website (one that is more user-friendly and attractive), plus they have performed various renovations including outdoor dining, to provide patrons with a new and exciting experience. However, what really sets them apart from others, is their newly unique menu which includes gluten-free and Vegan options, customized weekly specials and amazing specialty drinks. With over 120 Tequilas and Flights, and one-of-a-kind dishes like the surf & turf tacos, Mexican street corn, stuffed avocados, Lucho burger, fried ice cream and churros, those who dine at Salsa Salsa will never leave disappointed.
At Salsa Salsa you can expect the freshest, highest quality ingredients along with excellent service and value. They pride themselves in making every guest feel like a part of the salsa family. Their reputation speaks for themselves. With outstanding Google and Yelp reviews, patrons like Victoria says, “I’ve been coming here for years and they have always been great, but I feel like with the new menu, they have really refined their items and the quality is exceptional.” She also boasts about their outstanding drink menu, saying, “Their new menu beautifully presents drinks like the coconut margaritas and offers generous portions of mojitos served in pretty mason jar glasses. I would highly recommend Salsa Salsa to anyone in the area!”
A lifetime Smithtown resident, Karen and Chris are proud members of the community and have donated to all local schools and civic charities, along with the Kings Park Youth Baseball Team. Throughtout the COVID pandemic, they’ve continued to provide food donations to hospitals, first responders and frontline workers. They have really made a name for themselves. Especially with their high volume of followers on social media these days. Be sure to follow them on Instagram and Facebook (@smithtownsalsasalsa) for their weekly specials, beautiful cocktails and dishes.
