Holiday Fashion Trends of the 2024 Season
When you think of holiday fashion trends, do you think beyond the red and green standard? I truly look forward to seeing the glitz and glamour of each season – and 2024 is no different. One thing you will notice is that everywhere you shop, whether online or at traditional brick and mortar shops, holiday wear is readily on display along with the usual winter fare. You will likely browse from jeans to sweaters to sequins for your most festive holiday occasions. Styles this season range from sleek to flashy, ensuring there is something to choose from no matter your style tendencies.
Sequins are not just available this season; they are veritably standing on a platform shouting to be your selection of the day. From short dresses to full length, pencil skirts and splashy tops, fully sequined pieces are being shown in black, silver, red, and even ombre shades.
Lavish is the feeling you’ll get in any of the fabulous velvet finds you will see in black, red, green, teal or soft brown (with just a hint of gold). From dresses to jumpsuits to short jackets, velvet will elevate your look for the season and may even keep you feeling a bit warmer as the temperatures drop.
Open back blouses and dresses are a popular option for holiday wear this season but be careful not to get a chill. Dresses abound in either sleek midi length or full-length maxi dresses (they’re not just for summer anymore). Add a pair of the season’s over-the-top statement earrings for a fabulous look that is very on trend. Faux fur is back again – as anything that cozy should be – as a popular option to top it all off.
What colors should you expect to see as you put your holiday looks together? In addition to bright red, deep oxblood red is a fashion favorite for many designers this season. The color is both rich and luscious and is complemented by the beautiful shades of makeup being shown for the cold weather season. Prefer something softer? Winter white is your must-have color for winter and the holiday season. Try a short sweater dress in winter white with a smashing pair of just-to-the-knee length boots in the matching color. Truly, you will be a vision in white.
Silver and gold are, of course, in style for the holidays. But don’t expect them to be limited to accessories. This season, they will be in a starring role as a shimmery dress or flowing pair of slacks. Shall I mention black as a featured color this season? It is as it should be. There would be no LBD without the B. So be sure to pick up one that makes you feel unstoppable.
Whether you will be curling up and comfortable or attending the ‘it’ party for your social circle, be sure you are dressed for comfort and in styles that suit your body type. If you feel good, you will look good. Enjoy all the parts of the season that fill our senses and look great doing it.
Happy Holidays to you and yours
