This is one comforting, soul satisfying and easy to prepare meal –  what better Big Game Sunday?!  Put on your pre-game hospitality and make some invites to family and friends. In itself Big Game Sunday is an American tradition. It’s that once a year annual event that beckons not only us sports fans but all that want to turn the day into a fun day – holiday! Gather your family and friends around the TV and tune into an exciting game day! It’s a day to get cozy, and get your grub on – Prepare this delicious “Fan Fuel” early and then refrigerate until ready for oven. This will leave you some extra time to run out and grab some snacks and brew for the game watching. The delicious flavors and simple ingredients of sweet and hot sausages, mushrooms, marinara sauce and potatoes make this a Championship combination! Hopefully you have some frozen homemade sauce (that’s the goal) to prepare this easy supper-super-fast! Ready in 50 minutes to eat in front of the Big Game – making this meal a Winner! Toast up some bread for dipping up the delicious rich sauce.  You can create many variations on this theme, adding peas, beans, celery or carrots, and of course fresh herbs, parsley, basil, oregano, red pepper flakes, rosemary and thyme. Think outside of the playing field and add whatever you have in the house or desire. The players are at the dome~ while you’re at home…keeping warm.

Place sliced mushrooms and the peeled and par- boiled potatoes in a casserole dish (and any other desired variations) and cover completely with the marinara sauce, fresh herbs, salt and fresh ground pepper. Next place sausages on top so they will brown as cooking.  Bake at 375° for 45-50 minutes.  DONE! TOUCHDOWN!
Enjoy! xo Denise
