As most of you are aware, there are a myriad of treats during the holidays in Manhattan.  Here’s some of my favorites including some free ones:
Rockefeller Center Ice Rink and Rock Center Café.  Bring the whole family to skate and then dine at Rock Center Café right in view of the 94-foot Norway spruce from Oneonta (www.therinkatrockcenter.com). The Café is New York’s American Grill bringing chef-driven cuisine at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch.
Wollman Ice Skating Rink.  This is my absolute favorite as there’s ample room for skating and the views of Central Park are breathtaking especially if there’s snow on the ground.  For information about skating, the Central Park Horse & Carriage Ride, or New York Holiday Lights & Movie Sites Bus Tour visit www.getyourguide.com.
On Broadway.  There are many shows to choose from this holiday season. The Illusionists- Turn of the Century is a smash hit that features The Clairvoyants from America’s Got Talent and includes 7 different masterminds of magic and some of the most dangerous illusions ever built, the audience will be transported back to the golden age of magic.  It’s a can’t miss show for the family.     High Line Winter Tour:  From Freight to Flowers.  Hear about New York City’s 1.45 mile-long park in the sky on a special winter walking tour.  If you haven’t been there during any other season, join the guide at the Gansevoort Street entrance who’ll offer you and your family an insider’s look on the park’s history, design, and landscape.  Magnificent views of the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, the Chrysler Building, beautiful flora, and more (www.thehighline.org).
New York Botanical Gardens Holiday Train Show (www.nybg.org).  A ride to the Bronx will leave you and your family mesmerized by the holiday train show!  Featuring numerous historical New York sites and architectural wonders made purely out of bark, leaves, plants, vines, and anything that nature’s bounty has to offer.
