It’s that time of year again to grab your lucky charms and dress up as a leprechaun. St. Patrick’s Day is the most celebrated holiday and the day to claim your Irish even if you’re 100% Italian. As we say cheers to yet another year, have a drink for yourself and for the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick. What started as a day for Irish soldiers who were stationed in the U.S. to connect back to their roots, has evolved into so much more.

On Valentine’s Day it’s not only about the flowers, chocolates and jewelry but the many ways to show appreciation for the ones you love. Whether you’re newlyweds, longtime sweethearts or just dating, get creative in planning out your day and evening. Not sure of what to do? As the holidays approach, we look forward to all the delicious food. Long hours are spent cooking in the kitchen, preparing for our guests. For most, the days involve last minute running around and tiresome cleanups. This Thanksgiving, why not take the day off from cooking and spend the holiday at one of these fine local establishments.

Dads do so much for our families. Whether it’s working hard or fixing around the house, helping with homework or driving the kids to practice (name the activity / sport), dads do everything they can for our families. They certainly deserve at least one day to be celebrated (though probably several more would do them justice).

Though 18 years have gone by since his passing, I have vivid memories of him and the impact and meaning he had on my life.
