With the events of the past seven months still unfolding and causing continued concern, we welcome any opportunity to cultivate happiness,  embrace traditions and give thanks for little blessings. The season of autumn is the perfect time for us to reflect on the people and things we cherish most in life! It affords us the opportunity to enjoy all the beauty and bounty of nature, and to celebrate in a deeper and more meaningful way.
The crisp fall air, rich seasonal colors and delicious tastes and aromas of the season, can be your inspiration for home decor and holiday decorating.  Although we are still limited in our ability to socialize, we can partake in the traditions we look forward to this time of year, with just a little more thought and preparation in the process. Displaying seasonal decorations, planting flowers and spending time in nature will help improve our spirits, brighten our outlook and present us with a greater sense of normalcy. This is a gift we give to ourselves, our loved ones and our neighbors. They will be likely to find joy and hope in what we are doing and, perhaps, will use our efforts as an impetus for their own.
Making delicious meals or special desserts for family and loved ones, enjoying a slower pace and really taking the time to reflect on our blessings, will make this season more memorable and significant. Supporting local businesses, such as nurseries or craft and home decor stores, and getting back in touch with society, (bringing greater care and concern for our personal safety and that of others), is the best way to give back and feel a renewed sense of purpose. It will also serve to lessen the feelings of isolation we have all been subject to.
After all the months of refraining from what and who we know and love, fall gifts us with so many wonderful ways to reimagine our homes, our traditions and our world.  Hang a beautiful wreath on your door, carve a jack-o-lantern with your children, bake a pumpkin pie, sip some apple cider, light a fragrant candle and let’s give thanks for all that we have, while looking forward to all that is yet to come.  The beauty of fall is stunning and the prospects of what it brings…priceless. Now, more than ever, let’s rejoice, together!
