Unless you’ve been living on the moon for the last few years, you would have already learned that a landmark restaurant in Corona, Queens has just celebrated one year right here in Huntington. Rincon Criollo Restaurant is a family business that dates back to the early 1950’s, when the Acosta Brothers opened a restaurant in a small town, outside of Havana, Cuba. The restaurant quickly became a favorite amongst celebrities and dignitaries due to its vibrant ambiance, great service and tasty Cuban fare. After two decades of enjoying more success than the family ever dreamed of, the two youngest members of the family came to the states to build a dream of their own by bringing the traditions of the Acosta family’s humble beginnings to Corona, Queens.  They became so successful, that the food network showcased them on Guy Fieris’ Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. How’s that for bragging rights!
For the past 40 years, this small, yet quaint and authentic Cuban restaurant, on a stretch of Junction Blvd., Corona has just taken their business to the next level. The Acosta family  welcomes you to the all new Rincon Criollo. Opening its’ doors at what once was Pine Tree Inn, Rincon Criollo has become all the buzz around town right here on Jericho Turnpike, Huntington Station.
Visiting Miami many times over the years, where Cuban restaurants are plentiful, I’ve grown to enjoy the traditions of authentic Cuban food. Best way to describe it, is that every dish coming  out of the kitchen, looks like your Mother just made it. Though the Acosta family is incredibly successful, large in part, because of their chefs, the presentation is simplistic that is built around a power house of flavor. If you are newbie to Cuban Cuisine, try the Ropa Vieja; shredded flank steak slowly simmered in tomato sauce with green peppers and onions. How about the Arroz Con Pollo; A concoction of rice and chicken with sofrito (tropical rissotto), cooked to order. The menu is vast, filled with a selection of meats, like their popular Lechon Asado; A mouth-watering portion of roast pork their patrons just can’t seem to get enough of. Oh and the sides, like their Sweet Fried Plantains.
Rincon Criollo; Traditional and Authentic Cuban cooking set in a fun filled, family atmosphere that is bound to excite you.
