True Italian family bakeries are hard to come by, but Alpine Pastry Shop encompasses all of the fine qualities one could want in a classic pastry shop. Owner Anthony Cuccia was born in Sicily and immigrated to America when he was 15 years old. Because of his heritage, there’s a small bite of Italy in every morsel of his lovingly prepared food. He later lived in Brooklyn and learned the baking trade in a famous pastry shop called Alba. Lucky for us, he decided to bring his style of Italian baking to the Island!
Just thinking about the offerings at Alpine would make anyone’s mouth water. Italian pastries, cakes, special occasion cakes, including the new and popular “gender reveal” cake, cookies, cookie trays, bread, chocolates, a large variety of mouth watering cheesecakes (including pumpkin cheesecake, raspberry mousse cheesecake, canoli cheesecake and much more), are only a few of the scrumptious desserts to be found. Diabetics and dieters need not stay away from Alpine. It features a full line of sugar-free cookies and biscuits, pies and turnovers. In addition, they also carry gluten free cakes, cupcakes and cake pops.
It was always Anthony's dream to someday open his own bakery with his family. Now he takes pride in watching his children run the business. Peter, Angelo and Constance grew up in the business and learned hands-on. They have also helped to expand the business to a higher level. Specialty items great for all occasions include photo cakes, different shaped cakes, theme cakes, and party favors made of cookie or chocolate for all occasions. The choices don’t stop there! Customers can also treat their holiday guests to fun desserts such as pregnant cannoli, a chocolate cornucopia filled with cookies, a gingerbread house and chocolate houses.
Alpine Pastry Shop is not solely known for its delectable desserts. “We use the finest and freshest ingredients to insure the quality is second to none,” says Anthony. “We also pride ourselves on customer satisfaction whether it's for a small birthday party or a gala wedding.” Customers always ask Anthony to open other locations because it's hard to find a good family owned Italian bakery. “Because we can't be everywhere, we decided to ship our goods,” he laughs. "There is nothing like Alpine’s fresh bakery cakes and cookies." One customers states, “After tasting their one of a kind lobster cream filling, my taste buds will never be the same!”
Alpine Pastry Shop is one-of-a-kind in many ways. It’s one of the few bakeries left on the Island that make everything on the premises from cannolis to struffoli and now the delicious cronuts.
