Summer camp is a wonderful experience shared by children everywhere. In Suffolk County, we are fortunate to have great choices for our children to play, make friends, and spend days that create memories for a lifetime. Two organizations with long histories of providing spectacular camp experiences for thousands of children are those run by Suffolk Y JCC and Girl Scouts of Suffolk County.

Suffolk Y JCC:
There are an array of SYJCC camp programs to meet the needs of boys and girls of all ages. Camp Wonderland welcomes children as young as two and up to second grade for swimming arts & crafts, music, pony rides and other fun, age-appropriate activities in two, three or five day per week options.
At the Henry Kaufman Campgrounds, The SYJCC has camp programs for children on the 450 acre grounds. For K-5th grade campers, Junior Camp offers Red Cross swim instruction, archery, pioneering, sports, music, cultural activities, outdoor cooking and an abundance of camp spirit! Sports Camp is available for boys and girls entering grades 4-9, where campers are encouraged to increase self-esteem, develop skills, enjoy sports related trips, and have fun. Tween Camp, for those entering grades 6-9, participate in fun camp activities (can you say zip line!) at the campgrounds, as well as experience the fun of travel with friends as they head off on daily and overnight trips.
Back at The SYJCC, campers entering grades 1-9 with a flair for the theatrical can take part in our noted Theatre Camp. Enjoy dance, acting, singing and performing along with swimming and other traditional camp activities.
There are shuttle buses from the SYJCC to the campgrounds for added convenience, as well as extended hours for working parents. For more information SYJCC camps or for the dates of upcoming open houses, visit www.suffolkyjcc.org, contact (631) 462-9800 x127 or email alevy@syjcc.org.

Girl Scouts of Suffolk County:
With two locations to consider – Camp Edey and Camp Sobaco have lots to offer. Camp Edey's Journey to Adventure is for girls entering grades 1 – 6. The camp, located on 95 sprawling acres on the Sans Souci Lakes in Bayport, has two pools, an archery range, miles of hiking trails, and even a frog-friendly pond. Those who Journey to Adventure earn a different patch each week.
Camp Sobaco's STEM Camp and Discovery World STEM Center is for both girls and boys entering grades 1 – 6. Located on 42 acres of Pine Barrens on the banks of the Carman's River, it features a state-of-the-art STEM Center and exciting field trips every week. Both camps have the favorite amenities and activities kids are love: swimming, archery, fishing, boating, horseback riding, hiking, sports, games and more!
New for this year, GSSC now has Pixie Day Camp a girls-only program for our littlest campers ages 3-5. This half-day program at Camp Edey features water games, crafts, activities and much more. Teen-Ventures, now offered at both Camp Edey and Camp Sobaco, is designed especially for our older girls entering grades 7 – 9 and includes an off-site trip once per week.
